12/23/25Mammoth TUFF Weekend Gravel Race Documentary
Back for my second year taking on the Mammoth TUFF. This is a 40+ mile gravel race in the heart of Mammoth Lakes California. Again this year I camped waking up in 35° weather, pretending I’m smoking cigarettes with the warm air exiting my lungs while I wait for my coffee to brew. This year I was joined by my wife and daughter which was an absolute blast seeing them waving my CaliDOMESTIQUE flag for me at the finish line. It was that extra little encouragement that I needed to keep going. Our first evening, a bear visited our campsite exchanging all my friend’s meat in his cooler for paw prints. After we got warm and started moving, we jumped in the truck to explore June Lake and then over to the village for packet pickup. The morning of race day, I struggled to get up in the cold, and what was even more terrifying was trying to slide into ice cold cycling gear. We left our campsite at 7:40am for the 8:20am start time. There was a controlled pace and vehicle lead out until we turned off the main road and headed for dirt. We were immediately welcomed with a grade that only seemed to garner more elevation. Once we crested the first climb of the day, we had a chunky fast descent. Me being me, I was trying to be super quiet at camp and closed the car door on my thumb. It immediately bruised up and was throbbing. The vibrations coming from the downhill was not helping my thumb. My right hand went numb and I could feel my heart beat in my thumb. But I kept going. This is where I lost a bit of time, but made it up on the flats. Any other course, the crushed gravel roads would be mundane, but any direction you look, you’re blessed with mountain formations anywhere you look. The last part of the section last year had a deep sandy area where it took a miracle not to come to a stop and walk your bike. This year, it was replaced with some fun single track before putting you back in the final road climb back to the Village. From the campsite to the village we knew what incline was awaiting us as we tackled the climb once again for the final time of the day. Once I made that final right turn towards the finish line, I immediately saw my daughter waving my flag. I almost didn’t even notice the flag because I was drawn to the biggest smile on her face. After we redeemed our meal and drink ticket, we rode back to camp and jumped into the jacuzzi for some much needed R&R. We had another lunch and then headed back to the village for some Mammoth Brewery IPA at GOMEZ Mexican restaurant in the heart of the village. Sunday came way too soon, and it was time to pack up and head home. We stopped in Bishop for some baked goods, and then caffeine in Line Pine before making our 4 hour drive back home. Thanks to everyone who supported me for this video and I can’t wait for the next one.

8/25/25🔥 ANGELES FOREST GRAVEL GRIND | 117°F HEAT + 4,000FT CLIMB (DNF) 🚴♂️☀️
This wasn’t just a gravel ride, it was a full-on high-desert survival mission in the Angeles National Forest. We parked just off Angeles Forest Highway at Aliso Canyon, as the Forest Service locked the gate from 9AM–2PM. From there, we pedaled up to Mill Creek Fire Station, then climbed deeper into the backcountry via the rugged and unforgiving Pacifico Mountain Trail. The ascent was brutal with sharp, chunky gravel and scorching heat that peaked at 117.2°F. But the summit views made it worth every drop of sweat. After soaking in the altitude, we bombed back down to Angeles Forest Highway, picked up some serious speed, and connected to Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road to loop back. Despite the road closures, we grinded out the final climb back to the car for a full circle. Well, one us us did. (WATCH TILL END)
📊 Ride Stats:
🔥 117.2°F peak temperature
⛰️ 4,000+ feet of climbing
🚴♂️ Just under 40 miles
🥵 Effort 20.7 Whoop Strain
This ride had it all: chunky climbs, brutal heat, big views, and serious gravel soul-searching. If you're looking to test your legs and lungs on a forgotten fire road with epic payoffs, Pacifico delivers.

3/3/25A Day Trip to Alabama Hills
It was forecasted to be a wet windy day in Los Angeles County, so we decided to drive the 3 hours North to Lone Pine at the base of Mt. Whitney to explore Alabama Hills. My daughter and I are seasoned Bamers, but it was my wife’s first time. We arrived to our favorite campsite and set up the tent and kitchen table area. The girls explored, then burned through a couple pages of their favorite books while nestled on top of the unique rock formations. We then took a quick .6 mile hike to the starting of the Mobius Arch Trail Loop and then returned back to cook some lunch. The bike tagged along for a Hollywood Racks photo shoot, and before we left, we made sure to snap a photo at the famous “Movie Road”. Whitney Portal road has reopened, but we took the super scenic “Tuttle Creek” straight into downtown Lone Pine on HWY 395. Once in town we enjoyed crafted coffee’s, coconut cream pie, and chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone at Lone Star Bistro before heading back south.

1/5/25🚲Cycling to the Nike Missile Base in Los Angeles California 🎯
I cycled up Oat Mountain to find an abandoned Missile base! Exploring the forgotten remnants of the Cold War era, I ventured up to the abandoned Nike missile base near Oat Mountain in LA County. Hidden amidst the rugged terrain and overgrown vegetation, the base stands as a haunting relic of a bygone time. The winding trails leading to the site offered breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys, contrasting sharply with the eerie stillness that enveloped the decaying structures. As I walked through the crumbling buildings and rusting machinery, I couldn’t help but imagine the tension that once gripped this place. The silence now feels both peaceful and unsettling, a stark reminder of how time erases the fears of the past. This exploration was a fascinating journey through history, offering a unique blend of adventure and reflection in the midst of LA’s natural beauty. #nike #coldwar #missile

1/5/25Cycling the Los Angeles Aqueduct in Palmdale CA!
Today my daughter and I went to Palmdale to cycle their 7.7 mile out and back Aqueduct trail. This trail is relatively flat along the waterway, but be warned, when it’s windy, there isn’t much out there to protect you. We had headwind all the way back. Thanks for checking out our adventure cycling video.
